Cape Town Digest - food, wine, and places to stay
|
| Cape Town Digest is the official propaganda wing of Holiday Rentals Cape Town, www.rentalscapetown.com. We live in Cape Town and love it and want to tell you about what we get up to and what's good about our town so that you'll come and visit it.
Going out to good restaurants, discovering great fresh produce, bread, meat, cheeses and wine; visiting the areas around Cape Town that lovingly farm and produce this stuff are what we like doing a lot. |

Review- Stay at Hero City Super Studio, Green Point, The Woods, Knysna |
Tranquil studio in the heart of Green Point, Cape Town- I'll be back!
We travel to Cape Town on business every few months and need a place to stay
that has safe parking, close to the business centre and allows us cater for
ourselves during the day. We opt for functionality and convenience and the
associated savings so that we can splurge out on dinner and wine in the
evenings- there's a lot of choice of good restaurants in the Green Point and
City area.
The studio apartment, Hero City, provided us with everything we needed and
with a few more pleasant surprises thrown in- a balcony (albeit tiny) with a
decent view over the harbour and parts of Table Mountain, very nice hotel
style bed with first grade linen, satellite TV and wifi internet. Greg of
Holiday Rentals Cape Town even got us going on Skype for the first time. The
studio has enough space for two people to live in comfortably and enough
built in cupboard room to stow away everything and keep the flat nice and
uncluttered. The bathroom must have tiles and fittings that go back to the
70's but the water was hot and the bath, shower and toilet spotless. Loved
the rooibos soap- nice natural touch.
The kitchen had everything right down to a tea strainer and we cooked up a
great carbonara on the one night we stayed in. Another nice touch was the
little stash of Kenyan coffee and real Ceylon tea.
The security staff were really helpful and cheerful: Lyson- hope your
English studies are coming on!
Lastly- the coffee shop round the corner was really convenient for breakfast
and the restaurant in the same block, Manos, was a real treat.
We'd expected to rough it in Cape Town but got really top notch
accommodation well within our budget with superb service from the
reservation right to our departure.
